Miniature Pinscher 101
The Miniature Pinscher is a small dog breed that originated from Germany. The American Kennel Association describes them as sturdy, well-balanced, compact dogs, which smooth coats. The Miniature inschers are a super energetic breed that loves to run around the house, be playful and be bold. They are NOT related to the Doberman Pinscher, as many people mistakenly think.
Miniature Pinscher Personality
The Miniature Pinscher is a very alert dog that loves to lead an active life. Some people consider them to be the most energetic of all the dog breeds. They are known to sometimes suffer from the small dog syndrome and act to be a much larger dog than they really are. They are just as fearless as loyal. Miniature Pinschers do fine around children as long as they are not being pestered, in which case they can bite.
Miniature Pinscher Considerations
Interestingly, even though they are small, Miniature Pinschers are great watch dogs. They are also excellent watchdogs because they are prone to barking at every unfamiliar person, object or noise. This can be a good or a bad thing. Imagine how you would feel if your neighbor wasn’t home and their dog barked at every car that passed by. This is why training your Miniature Pinscher to know when to stop is crucial.
