The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament look like a very royal breed with their floppy ears and feathery hair. They look like they were bred to sit on thrones with the kings! That being said, in reality, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament is actually very energetic. They are a small dog breed and love to be with their humans. They are a great family dog because they are usually excited about everything. They will go on a run or a hike with you, but they will also be just as satisfied being home and curling up with your for a belly-rub! They do not do so well when they are left alone for long periods of time since they can suffer from Separation Anxiety. That being said, it is most helpful to make sure you have some time to be with your Cavalier King Charles Spaniel if you are going to get one. They are not meant for super busy people who have a lot on their plate and might be gone for long periods of time. If the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are left alone for a long time and get bored, they might become destructive and chew on things that they are not supposed to be chewing on.

They were bred to be hunters and so they love to be outdoors and do activities with their humans that require them to work! That being said, they actually will do fine with elderly or less active people as long as their human is willing to take them on walks and sometimes take them to a yard or a park where they can run around. Their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament makes them a great choice for first time dog owners who might still be learning the ropes of it all.

Are King Charles Spaniels Good Apartment Dogs?

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament is perfect for apartment living since they only need to get some outdoorsy fun a couple of times a week. They do love the outdoors but will be just as happy indoors. The most important thing for them is to be around their humans so that they do not feel lonely and isolated. That being said, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament is well suited also for runners, hikers, bikers and swimmers! They love hunting with their humans so hunters can bring them into the field with them. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament is well suited for tracking and chasing. Such activities will leave them a little worn and extremely satisfied!

Are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Easy To Train?

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament is quite easy to train. They are people-pleasers and will do anything to be in your good books. They are naturally well-behaved dogs and appear to be quite timid and so they need someone who can be a natural leader with them without being harsh to them. They respond well to gentle treatment. Since they do happen to be natural hunters, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels cannot be trusted in an open space or off their leash. This is one of the situations where they need to be taught to be very obedient and respond to the training they have been taught. They can also chase down bikes and cars (because of that same hunting instinct), which can be very dangerous.

This is different than the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament around human babies! The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament is very well suited for human babies, toddlers and children. They actually are considered a very good companion for small children. They are always happy and can be very affectionate. They are very small, friendly and non-threatening and so children who are nervous around other bigger and feistier dogs do well around these dogs. The Charles Spaniels Temperament has a very calm and patient component to it which is good for the youngsters who might want to put them on their laps and brush their coats for them! They can also be very playful which is a trait all children can learn to enjoy!

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniels Temperament is very timid and so you need to make them feel confident. If this is not done, they can become very fearful of everything including their own shadow! They need to be socialized with new visitors, new animals and new experiences so that they can be around them. They can easily be your traveling buddy in the car and should be taken on trips so that they can be with you and learn to enjoy the world!
