There are many dogs that remain small even when they are full grown. They furry babies are babies forever even when they are as mature as they can be. These are the ones that you can feed a bunch and try to make wider, but in reality, the dogs that remain small will get sick if you are trying to get them to be an abnormally big size!
Below is a list of the top 10 dogs that remain small. Know that this list might be missing some names here and there, but we chose some of the most popular dogs that remain small to be added to this list, which makes it not as comprehensive.

10. French Bulldog


The French bulldog is a small domestic dog with a wrinkly face, close to that of a pug. They were first bred in the eighteen hundreds in English and then in France by lace makers! French bulldogs are known for being a very playful and affectionate breed. They are intelligent dogs but can be very willful, stubborn and challenging to train. They need to be trained from a very young age but a patient owner and should also be socialized well.
Usually, French bulldogs are dogs that stay small and weigh between 16 and 25 pounds, although depending on the breeding environment and their line, they can be as small as twelve pounds.

The Boston Terrier is a lively dog breed which is highly intelligent and has excellent social skills. They should be quite easy to train. They are determined dogs with lots of strength. They make great house pets for those folks who lead active lifestyles and can take the Boston Terriers out for a quick run a couple of times a week. They are quite alert, just like many other terrier dogs and can be very sensitive to their owner’s voice.
Boston Terriers are dogs that stay small and usually weigh between 15 to 20 pounds and are considered overweight when they weigh more than 25 pounds.

Shih Tzu dogs have long, silky hair. They were originally bred in China. They have a short muzzle and large dark eyes. They also have soft and long double-coat that needs to be groomed regularly. They are known for being affectionate, outgoing and alert. They are an excellent watch dog because of their sensitive ears. They were bred to be wary of strangers. They prefer to remain close to their owners and often get needy and cry if they’re not taught to be alone even for short periods of time. If trained well, they will get along well with other dogs and children as well.
Shih Tzu are dogs that stay small and weigh between 11 and 16 pounds.

7. Pomeranian


If you want dog that stays small and is also a ball of fluff, the Pomeranian is your kind! They are small, furry and feisty little ones. They are a toy breed that been popular since the seventeenth century. They’ve had some celebrity owners including Queen Victoria. They love being around their owners and are very protective of them. This strong bond with their owners also sometimes results in separation anxiety. They are alert little dogs that are well aware of changes in their environment and can bark excessively in response to new stimuli if they are not trained well.
Usually, Pomeranian dogs are between 4 and 7 pounds in weight as a full grown, which shows that they are dogs that stay small.
